08/21/10 - Englishtown, NJ - Today's Anger Management Racing Pro 11.50 Index had sixteen driver's come out on a hot August day. At least it was not as hot as Event 6. As this series continues, we have more driver's qualifying in the 11.5X's. This is a sign that the racers are serious about where they qualify in this class. The number one qualifier was Paul Bogdan with a 11.514 @ 109.37 mph. The number two qualifier was Ellis Gray with a 11.526 @ 118.86 mph and following in third was Rob Farley with a 11.529 @ 117.73 mph. After today's event, we will only have three events to determine our Champion.

Round 1

The first pair to start off event #7 was Ellis Gray (2) and Jerry Muniz (10). Both drivers staged deep and waiting for the yellow flash. The tree flashed and Ellis was out first with a .027 to Jerry's sleepy .223. First to the stripe was Ellis with a 11.625 @ 112.07 mph to Jerry's 11.530 @ 119.61 mph. Jerry tried his best to push Ellis out but was not able to do so. The next pair to battle it out on the 1320 was Marc Hinkes (12) and Eric Fischer (4). Last year Marc was the rookie of the class. This season Marc has qualified number one and has been hitting the tree. I wonder if he has a practice tree. With both drivers staged and waiting for the flash. The tree flashed and Marc was one with the tree. Marc was .013 to Eric's .029. Both drivers hit the tree hard. Both drivers are aware that they need to hit the tree to advance to the next round. First to the finish line was Eric with a 11.563 @ 114.45 mph to Marc's 11.674 @ 121.25 mph. The next two driver's have the same year vehicles. Ron Higgins (15) driving his 1996 C4 going up against Rich Shuleski (7) driving his 1996 Grand Sport. Both driver's are ready to leave on a flash. The tree flashed and Rich was out first with a .036 to Ron's .098. At the finish line, it was Rich crossing first with a 12.010 @ 110.29 mph with Ron just behind him with 12.097 @ 109.96 mph.

The next pair of driver's to battle it out is Anthony Cupolo (9) and Paul Bogdan (1). The reaction times were separated by .014. Anthony was out first with a .010 to Paul's .024. On the top end it was a photo finish. Anthony crossed first with a 11.545 @ 116.69 mph to Paul's 11.536 @ 115.43 mph. starting the second half of round one was Rob Farley (3) and Tommy Michalkowski (11). Rob was able to leave the starting line first with a .051 to Tommy's .076. On the top end, Tommy broke out trying to push Rob out. Tommy crossed first with a 11.485 @ 121.04 mph to Rob's 11.550 @ 118.62 mph. The next pair to the line is not signed up for points in this class. The next pair to the line was Ralph Savarese (8) and Adam Brandt (16). Adam left before the tree was activated and had no time recorded from the computer. Ralph made this run a time shot to see if he had everything in order. On the tree Ralph was .166 on the tree and ran a 11.472 @ 116.19 mph. Next to the line was Artie Chin (14) driving his 2008 Black Supercharged Corvette. Next to Artie was Peter Huff (6) driving his 2004 convertible. Peter was able to leave first with a .019 to Artie's .355. You would think that Peter would have the win, but Peter could not get his car to run the number. Artie crossed first a 11.575 @ 104.64 mph to Peter's 11.954 @ 118.81 mph. The last pair to finish round one was Andrew Volponi (13) and Gary Hillen (5). Both driver's almost had identical reaction times. Andrew was out first with a .071 to Gary's .077. At the stripe it was Gary crossing first with a 11.819 @ 122.82 mph to Andrew's 11.863 @ 119.87 mph.
