05/09/09 - Englishtown, NJ - The second Anger Management RacingPro 11.5 Index presented by Russ DeLibero-Emerald Financial Resources is now in the record books. The weather was sunny and the temperature was in the low 80's. We had eight drivers qualify in the 11.5's with one driver qualifying dead=on with an 11.500. There were two drivers that qualified in the 11.6's, three drivers in the 11.7's, two drivers in the 11.8's and the sixteenth driver with an11.901. As the series continues, there are less drivers running under the Index. This is a clear indication that the drivers are adjusting their cars and themselves to run the index.

Qualifying
There were 17 Corvette's in the lanes during qualifying. Ellis Gray came out swinging with an 11.500 on his second qualifying pass. This is the second time that we ever had a driver qualify with an 11.500. The first driver to achieve this was Joe Latona in 2008 Race 3. In the number two position with an 11.506 @ 119.45 MPH was Jerry "Boogieman" Muniz with his Black 2005 C6. The number three position had the same ET as Jerry but since Jerry qualified with the 11.506 first, Rob Farley would have to sit in the number three position with his 11.506 @ 116.33 MPH. Rich Shuleski was in the number four position with an 11.544 @ 118.25 MPH. We had one driver that did not qualify. Joe Latona was 17th and outside looking in with an11.955 @ 121.76.
Round 1:
The first pair of drivers to come around the wall was Jerry Muniz (2) and Gary Hurta (10). Gary has been trying to control all the power from his 2009 ZR1. Gary has been trying different launch techniques and it appears that he may have found the sweet spot to get all the power to the ground. Both drivers are staged and the tree flashed and Jerry was out first with a .093 to Gary's .646. With the starting line advantage going to Jerry, he was able to cross the finish line first with an 11.749 @ 103.67 MPH to Gary's 11.777 @ 122.93 MPH. Next to the line was the number one qualifier Ellis Gray (1) and Shawn Cavanagh (9). Shawn was out first with a .040 reaction time. Ellis left the line with a .168. Ellis poured it on to try to push out Shawn at the top end. Ellis ran an 11.504 @ 119.24 MPH and lost the round to Shawn's 11.548 @ 109.72 MPH. The next two drivers to battle it out on the 1320 were Rich Shuleski (4) and Eric Fischer (12). Eric left first but red with a -.008 red light. Eric was trying to tree Rich but hit it a little too hard. Rich nailed the tree with a .042. Rich ran 11.639 @ 112.54 MPH. The next two drivers have been battling it out in other 11.50 classes at Raceway Park. The next driver to the line was Shay LaScalla (11). Shay has been looking to take down her opponent Rob Farley (3) since the beginning of the season. With all the pressure on Shay in round one, Shay left the line with a .431 to Rob's .078. Rob was able to cross first with an 11.736 @ 94.21 MPH to Shay's 11.550 @ 120.84 MPH. After the race, Shay said that she had the name Rob Farley bouncing around in her head.

The next Corvette to the line had an unfamiliar driver in it. Rob Zona (5) was driving the Tommy Michalkowski owned Black Corvette instead of his own Z06. He and his tuner (Tommy, Anger Management Racing,), found it easier to slow Tommy's car to the index than Rob's. Zona was racing Bob Cook (13) in his Yellow 427 ci
d road race Corvette. Cook left first with a .045 to Zona's .087. Crossing the finish line first was Zona with a 12.089 @ 100.66 MPH to Cook's 12.623 @ 123.13 MPH. The next drivers to race were Bill Fischer Sr. (7) in his 2001 White C5 going up against Marshall Brown (15) driving his 2004 C5. Marshall was off the line first with a .148 to Bill's .317. Crossing the stripe first was Bill Fischer Sr. with an 11.519 @ 116.39 MPH to Marshall's 11.839 @ 118.25 MPH. The next pair of racers to face off are Rob Petyo (8) and Gary Hillen (16). Gary left first with a .300 reaction time to Rob's .650. Rob crossed first with an 11.547 @ 94.49 MPH to Gary's 11.913 @ 120.16 MPH. The next pair of racers to compete were Tommy Michalkowski (14) and Paul Bogdan (6). Paul left first with an outstanding .013 light to Tommy's .058. This was a top end race as both drivers were looking at each other as they were approaching the finish line. With both drivers breaking out, Tommy broke out by less with an 11.471 @ 110.71 MPH to Paul's 11.457 @ 113.91 MPH. Both drivers were penalized 20 points for going under the 11.50 index.

Rich crossed first with an 11.647 @ 118.66 MPH while Rob broke out with an 11.498 @ 104.17 MPH trying to push Rich out. The next two drivers looking to advance to the next round were Rob Farley (3) and Bill Fischer Sr. (7). Rob was out first with a .097 to Bill's .175. Rob crossed first with an 11.599 @ 104.40 MPH with Bill breaking out with an 11.450 @ 11.10 MPH. The next two drivers to the line knew they had enough power to run the number, but who would take the stripe first? The next pair was Shawn Cavanagh (9) and Rob Zona (5). Starting line advantage went to Shawn with a .038 reaction time to Rob's .092. Shawn crossed first with an 11.527 @ 109.24 MPH with Rob crossing with an 11.634 @ 123.13 MPH. Round 3:
Round three started with Rob Farley (3) and Shawn Cavanagh (9). Both drivers have been trash talking on the forum and in the lanes about who will take out who. The starting line advantage went to Shawn with a .023 reaction time. Rob left the line with a .049 and crossed first with an 11.526 @ 109.24 to Shawn's loosing 11.481 @ 117.62 MPH. Cavanagh also took a penalty for going under the index. The last pair in round three was Jerry Muniz (2) and Rich Shuleski (4). Rich left early with a -.011 red light. Jerry left with a .967.
